To prevent the text in the start menu from being cut off, in your desktop rename “My Computer” to “Computer”, “My Documents” to “Documents”, “My Network Places” to “Network”, “Internet Explorer” to “Internet”. Also in your My Documents folder, rename “My Music” to “Music”, “My Pictures” to “Pictures” and “My Videos” to “Videos”. You can also rename “My Recent Documents” to “Recent Items” if you like. Then customize your start menu by right clicking your start button, click Properties, go to Advanced Tab and scroll to Network Connections and make it “Display as Connect to menu”. Finally Click OK.
